Message Templates

Message templates allow you to reuse message structures you use often, rather than creating a message from scratch each time.

You can use message templates in the message builder and in FIX sessions.

Each message template belongs to a single FIX spec. To view all message templates for a spec, navigate to the Tools tab, and select Message templates in the sidebar.

Creating a template

There are two ways to create a template:

• To create a template from scratch, click New template from the Message templates tool
• To quickly save a message you've already constructed in the message builder, or when sending a message from a session, click Save as template...

Loading a template

To apply a template, click Load template from the message builder, or when sending a message from a session.

Loading a template will discard the current message and replace it.

Ownership

Templates can either be private or shared.

A private template is only visible to you.

A shared template is visible to anyone who can view the FIX spec, and editable by anyone who can edit the spec.
